NGC 7293 The Helix Nebula
NGC 7293 THE HELIX NEBULA
NGC 7293, commonly known as the Helix Nebula, is a prominent planetary nebula located in the constellation Aquarius. It is one of the closest nebulae to Earth, situated approximately 650 light-years away. The Helix Nebula was formed from the ejected outer layers of a dying star, which has now collapsed into a white dwarf at its centre. This nebula exhibits a striking ring-like structure, appearing much like a glowing cosmic eye, and is composed of a mix of gases including hydrogen and helium, along with traces of heavier elements.
