Why should you purchase a print from Donstronomy? Here’s why!

You will be supporting a small Australian business who is genuinely passionate about providing a high quality product and service. Image acquisition and processing are all original work photographed from my Bortle 2 class sky property and processed by myself. All photos are personally printed on a 10 colour ink Epson SC-P906 fine art ink jet printer. Photos are printed on high quality gallery grade fine art paper. Frames are hand made by myself, constructed from an Australian oak timber frame 42mm x 19mm.

Hello, my name is Don Pearce and I am a passionate astrophotographer who resides in a small area known as Turondale in the Central Tablelands of New South Wales in Australia. Situated above 900 metres elevation and located away from any major city or town, makes my location perfect for astrophotography with it’s Bortle Class 2 skies.

I have worked in the technical side of creative arts since I was nineteen under the umbrella of the Theatre and Entertainment Industries. I have just recently semi retired leaving my day job to spend more time with my obsession with astrophotography.

I have had an interest with astronomy and astrophotography since my first purchase of Sky and Telescope magazine three decades ago, however, I had not purchased any equipment until 2019. I was fortunate enough to have finally saved enough money to purchase the telescope and accessories on my budget just prior to the Covid -19 lockdown.

Overall, I am a practical and industrious individual. I enjoy the process of finding practical solutions to implement whilst saving money. As a result, I designed and built my own observatory from a combination of raw and purchased materials.
