Southern Pinwheel Galaxy M83

M83 Aka the Southern Pinwheel Galaxy

Is a magnificent spiral galaxy located in the constellation Hydra, approximately 15 million light-years away from Earth. What makes M83 truly captivating is its stunning spiral structure and its remarkable star-forming regions. M83 is also known for its vigorous starburst activity, where massive stars are born at an accelerated rate. This was my first image of this galaxy.

Photographed in July 2020 with my Edge HD telescope at prime focus using a dedicated colour CMOS camera.
