M8 Lagoon Nebula
situated in the constellation Sagittarius. This nebula, located around 4,100 light-years away from Earth. Composed mainly of hydrogen gas, the M8 Lagoon Nebula features a distinctive shape resembling a lagoon surrounded by ethereal clouds of cosmic dust. Its glowing red and blue hues, come from ionized hydrogen and hot young stars.
I photographed this in August 2020 using my F2.2 Hyperstar and a cooled CMOS colour camera with a duo band filter.
