M20 Widefield
The M20 Triffid Nebula
Approximately 20 light-years in diameter, It is a stellar nursery, producing new generations of stars. In its core lies an open star cluster, NGC 6514, made up of dozens of young, hot stars. These stars illuminate the nebula's surrounding gas and dust clouds, casting hues of blue and red.
I photographed this in September 2021 using my F2.2 Hyperstar and a cooled CMOS colour camera.
